Ok, so I wanted to try something new! I have learned that I love curry as a flavor. I also LOVE hummus! So what better when I found a curried hummus recipe on Allrecipes(one of my FAVORITE places to find recipes!). I HAD to try, so try it I did. Now I will warn you, I have only made it once, and I didn’t have fresh lemons. My recipe ended up bit largely on the lemony side, though the flavors got more amazing each day after it was made!
2(15.5oz) cans chick peas(garbanzos) rinsed and drained* – retain 1/2 c. liquid
2 Tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed(can use 3/8 tsp garlic powder or 3/4 tsp granulated garlic)
3 tsp curry powder
6 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 c. liquid from garbanzos (start with 1/4 c.)**
Salt, to taste
Hot sauce, to taste
Put all ingredients in a food processor, or blender, and blend until smooth. Serve. Best if chilled and even better the next day.
*I did not rinse mine and it added a great flavor
**Start with 1/4c. how much you put in will depend on how thick you want it!
This really was amazing! Seriously amazing! I will try it again with fresh lemons this time though……..
